New qualifications for leaders

Lauren completed her qualification, which included learning and experience in other educational settings, this summer after gaining a BA(Hons) in 2022 from the University of Huddersfield.

 

Alice, who qualified as an Early Years Teacher in 2017, has also now qualified as a Level 3 Early Years Special Educational Needs Coordinator which accredits HLC Nursery as a SENCO-accredited setting for early years.

Children celebrate graduation from HLC

Thirteen children have graduated from Brighouse’s Hipperholme & Lightcliffe Day Nursery (HLC) at an event to mark the end of their time in pre-school before they start in reception classes at primary schools across the area in September.

Food Standards Agency - 1 June 2023

Environmental Health awarded the nursery a Grade 5 during its most recent inspection of our kitchen on Thursday 1 June 2023.

Early Years Initial Teacher Training

We are pleased to announce Lauren Knight has completed her Initial Teacher Training (EYITT). In addition Alex Brych has also been accepted onto the EYITT from September 2023 taking our teacher leadership group to 5.   

TWiTCH - Sheffield Hallam University

TWiTCH, a professional development programme led by Sheffield Hallam University to promote high quality adult-child interactions in early years settings. We are one of 25 settings in the UK accepted onto the programme.

EYFS 1 September 2023

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS 2021) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life. Ratios for all 2 year olds has been changed from 1:4 to 1:5.
